KC Web Geeks participated in the KC Coders 4 Charities event held this past weekend. What an experience! We were not only able to connect with other programmers and help out a good cause, but we also potentially helped thousands of people indirectly. An estimated 4000 man hours were donated during the event.

The charity that we were assigned to help out with was Kids and Cars.org.

KidsAndCars.org is a national nonprofit child safety organization dedicated to preventing injuries and death to children in or around motor vehicles.  KidsAndCars.org has been pioneering a national prevention movement since 1996 by promoting the highest level of awareness among parents, caregivers, legislators and the public at-large about the dangers inherent to children in or around motor vehicles. KidsAndCars.org works to prevent these sudden tragic events through data collection, education and public awareness, policy change, regulations and survivor advocacy.

We had such a great time that we look forward to next years event.
