Witty Subject Lines= Sucessful Leads

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

We all get large quantities of emails these days. Most of which is spam from true spammers and then what I call time spam. Time spam would be anything that requires me to open the email and then perform some activity that might be interrupting a current project or thought process.  These would be something like a Facebook status comment or even a twitter message.   Out of some type of instinct you read the email click the link and then respond or preform an action.   I tend to leave those to a point where I have collected a few of them and then look at them and perform said action.   Outside of those emails i typically get all kinds of just random stuff. Rss Feeds updates to various services im subscribed to or using.

Today a very interesting  subject line caught my eye: “Making Ideas Happen: RSS Creativity, The Yes Men, Pink Sumo Wrestlers” This came from Behance.  A design and creative idea market place. They provide helpful and inspirational tidbits about creative subjects.  What caught my eye was not the “RSS Creativity” nor the “The Yes Men” it was the “Pink Sumo Wrestlers”. Why this caught my eye I have no idea. I opened the email and starting looking for the bit about the Pink Sumo Wrestlers. I did not find it so I went directly to the website.

I have become a perfect lead for them. I opened the email and went directly to the site to read the article.
